There is a beta build of our Android software out now on our website, it can be downloaded to ascertain whether the issue has been resolved pending the next public release.

Thanks Tim. I downloaded the new version but when I run it the blue SkyDemon start screen appears for a second or two and then the program closes. Any tips to get it working?

The fact it doesn't work on your device is very useful information. Unless we discover why, the next full release of SkyDemon is likely to also be broken on that device, and we don't have one in the office to test on. Can you get into the filesystem of the device? SkyDemon should have written a debug.log file in there, probably within the SkyDemon folder itself. If you can get that file to us, it would really help.

I have had a hunt around on the device (I can see the file system, not sure if some of it is hidden) for a debug.log file and can't find one. Pretty sure there is nothing in the SkyDemon directory or any of its subdirectories. Where else might it be stored? I used the search function on my PC and that didn't come up with anything, and I had a look around by hand. The app does exit very quickly - is it possible it never gets around to writing anything?

I suppose it is possible, yes. The alternative would be for you to get access to the Android log (LogCat) as the crash happens. I'm not sure if there are utilities out there which allow this other than the full Android debugging tools, although a quick Google search resulted in a couple of apps that claim they can show you the log.

I am having the same problem.

SkyDemon doesn't seem to create a debug.log file for me either. I have installed the aLogCat app and the following is the log after a few failed attempts to start SkyDemon on my Galaxy S2 running android 4.3. I hope this helps.

Here's the same log in 'Long' output mode:

Hmm, thanks for posting that. I still don't know what might be wrong but I will try some Googling.

I'm happy to test a debug build if you can supply one that may help out.
