The idea was always to have two mobile devices, as that's a fair number. We didn't enforce the iOS/Android split for a long time though because people tended to be in one camp or the other. Nowadays it's much more common for people to mix iOS and Android so we spell everything out explicitly in the terms and conditions which you agree to upon renewal or purchase of an existing subscription.

Is it just me or has this changed... I used to use two android and one iPad devices fine until recently. Now I'm forever getting 'logged out' messages. I haven't flown too much in 8 months though.
I believe it used to be 2 android and 2 ithings included.. Am I wrong Tim?
Some notification of the change would have been nice and the option to maybe have an extended license (for not too much extra) to cover additional devices...
It's a real pain because these are portable devices with relatively short battery lives, I think many folk will have more than two (iPad for planning, galaxy note or similar on a suction mount and iPhone as backup).
It's a shame if people are breaching the license terms and everyone is then suffering :-(

No, I wouldn't have thought so. Actually maybe the tethering might trigger it. Should be easy enough to test, anyway.

Thanks for the response Tim.
No, I don't use a VPN. However I do connect from a variety of places, usually using wifi to connect to the internet but also fairly frequently using my phone, which I tether using a USB cable. Could this be recognised as a change do you think?

Is there something that changes about your laptop? As the message indicates, something must have changed about your laptop such that our server no longer recognises it when it tries to communicate in order to obtain some data from us. Perhaps you use a VPN for networking or something?

I have a similar, but not identical, problem in that I have this problem only with my laptop which I use as my main planning tool.
The laptop is running windoze 8.1 and SkyDemon 3.3.1.0
I get one of two error messages. Both say that the device is not logged in properly, then one of them says that I have logged into a different device whilst the other says that something may have changed on my laptop (this second message is the usual one) and SkyDemon cannot recognise it. In both case I have to 'log out' (hard to understand why, as apparently I'm not logged in), restart SkyDemon and log in. The laptop is the only non mobile device I use SkyDemon on.
For in flight navigation, I run the software on an android mobile device, with my iPhone as a backup device. Very occasionally I will also run it on my iPad. I never have the login issue with the mobile devices, only with the single laptop that I use for planning.
Any ideas please?

Tim Dawson (5/27/2015) You can still have a third backup device because it doesn't actually have to be logged in to our system. After all, if you just use it in the air to navigate yourself somewhere in an emergency, it will have no need for live data.Ok, Tim. Clear and understood. And sorry to see so many 'illegal' users are around.

No, sorry. That would not effectively block the sharers at all, as the most common sharing scenario is to share with one friend.
Two concurrent mobile devices is a very fair offer. After all, how many hands do you have? You can still have a third backup device because it doesn't actually have to be logged in to our system. After all, if you just use it in the air to navigate yourself somewhere in an emergency, it will have no need for live data.

Tim Dawson (1/9/2015) When you log in on a third mobile device (iOS or Android) the first one is logged out again. I know it's a pain, but sadly there are a lot of people out there who want to abuse our system by sharing their login details with their friends. This is why we only allow two mobile devices to be logged into our system under the same account at the same time.Hi Tim, I recognize the fact that people may be sharing their accounts, which is not nice (you have to earn some money as well as a company), but by reducing the number of concurrent mobile devices to 2 max, you get to the point where the 'proper' users start to get hindered. To give you my example: When making a flying trip, I regularly use 1 Nexus 7 mounted in the aircraft for navigation purposes. On the ground I use my iPad (which is too big to use for in the cockpit) to do some preparations for the next leg. I want my iPhone to be standby as backup in case my Nexus stops working. Transferring newly planned routes is becoming a real nightmare now, with logging in every time on each device to get the routes and info updated on all devices. During my trips I am not using my PC-based account at all. I would appreciate to have max limit of 3 or 4 concurrent devices, no matter what, either PC or mobile device. This will still block effectively the 'illegal' users, but will allow the paying customers to use the excellent product you have without too much 'blocking' issues. Can you please reconsider this? Thanks!

Having two mobile devices connected to SkyDemon at once is no problem, it's allowed under our standard personal subscription (as long as it's the named user using it).
