What hardware are people using to establish the wireless link between a tablet and an autopilot?

What I saw was with the built in hardware as transmission source. Only a simple cheap converter on the other side. If Skydemon would send Avlink data over wireless, all would be set for Experimental and microlight already today. The guy doing that stuff was a member of this forum and ran away, maybe you can still contact him for details?
