Hi there, I use SD on my iPad with a DUAL XGPS150 Bluetooth GPS sensor.

Since the last iPad iOS SW update this week (now on iOS 8.3) this problem seems to have arisen...

When I tell SD to "Go Flying" it initially picks up the location OK but within 30 seconds it seems to disconnect from the GPS and the dreaded "Waiting for Location Data" message comes up.

Can you help?

Thanks,

Andy

Actually to say to us "oh there is nothing we can do"  is completely unsatisfactory, Mr SkyDemon!!

While you cant fix the operating system you can put pressure on Apple to fix it rather than just sitting back and hoping it get fixed some year some time.

I'm not associated with SkyDemon in any way other than as a satisfied (Android) customer, but I find the tone of your comment quite unhelpful, radiocheck. First, why should Skydemon spend their limited resource fixing a problem between a third party GPS and a third party OS update? Second, even if they did, they would be just one voice - if you and everyone else affected got off their backside and contacted both Garmin and Apple directly, the impact would be much greater than one complaint from one small (sorry Tim!!!) company.

I suggest you take your own advice, radiocheck.

Umm - Skydemon is advistised as working on ipad. I pay Skydemon for a subscription. Skydemon is a company (whatever size) and I am sure they get support from Apple in one form or another - Skydemon can raise a case on this as it affects the use of Skydemon.

Individuals and suppliers can add pressure and your post is extremely unhelpful in ignoring that. I am saying that an attitude of everyone pointing at everyone (which is what triggered my post) else means nothing gets fixed. In fact I blame you personally for this issue. (did that help ?)

You know, I get so fed up these days when I come across people blaming other people for everything.
Why on earth are you blaming Sky Demon for this Radiocheck, because the problem that you are experiencing is as a result of something YOU DID !!
"I didn't do anything" I can hear you say. But you DID didn't you?
You personally downloaded the software update from Apple that caused your device to fail. YOU DID THAT not Sky Demon.
My iPad Mini is working fine thank you very much, because I didn't rush to download the update. It's still sitting there on my device ready to be installed, but I have learned that it is wise to wait for some time after a published update to make sure that there are no new bugs that come out with the new software. It happens nearly every time that Apple publish an update, new bugs come out of the woodwork and this time there are quite a lot including problems with other navigation applications.
So I think your are out of order laying the blame on the team at Sky Demon, you should be blaming yourself for rushing into it before doing your homework.

Apple are still signing iOS 8.2, so for anyone still having this problem, the best advise is to downgrade their iPad.

There are many tutorials on the web.
