When I transfer flight history log file from my ipad to pc via iTunes, the extenion of the file is flightlog which I do not know how to open in SD PC version, as when I try to import from file, the SD program does not see the mentioned file extension. (It is looking only gpx extension). Question:

how do I get logs from ipad to SD PC version? Second question, can you add either to IPAD version or to both versions, so that logs of the flights would be ready for printouts and record keeping according to official rules. Basically can you add logbook capability to the program: you start skydemon, you plan, you fly, and you go home and all teh flight data, touchdowns and so on are recorded according to actual flight for later review and printouts.

Thanks in adnvance, I am happy with your program otherwise.

Flight logs live in the SkyDemon\Logs folder in your My Documents folder on your PC. Putting a log in there will result in it showing up when you go to review a log in SkyDemon Plan.

We do not currently intend to introduce a full logbook facility in SkyDemon, but when you analyse a flight log it should show you everything you need to easily create a log entry elsewhere.

Dear Team,
I have the same problem: I have imported my flight logs from the iPad to PC using iTunes. Afterwards I copied it to the ..\Documents\SkyDemon\Logs-Folder. Now they appear in the "Open Flight Log"-window after starting SkyDemon on my PC. But they are greyed out and I can not click "OK" or double-click the log files itself. Can you help me how to display the logfiles in my PC after my flight(s)?
Thanks a lot,
Thomas

You have followed what appears to be the correct procedure. If SkyDemon won't open the logs, it means that the file is either corrupted or not in the format SkyDemon is expecting.

I have tried emailing the Flight Log from the iPAD to a PC and copying the file to the Doc/Skydemon/Logs and I am getting the same greyed out view and the file will not load.

Does this have to be transferred with iTunes?

Which file? When you email a flightlog, I believe it is sent in GPX format for use in third-party software. I can't remember if it's also attached in the native SkyDemon .flightlog format.

It sends both the gpx and the flightlog file. I can load the gpx in MemoryMap with no problems, but I cannot use the flightlog file in SkyDemon, it shows greyed out and will not load!

Would something like iExplorer extract the files you need, avoiding iTunes? See: http://goo.gl/tsJea

I don't think so, I am transferring the file with no problem, the issue is reading it in SkyDemom.

I notice that when I transfer log files fromiPad to PC via iTunes the file type is dropped. It may be that if you rename the files with .flightlog then SD will recognize them.
