Hi Tim,
Last week I flew to a south coast airfield and used one of my previously saved routes. All good. On the way home I decided to take the scenic route home, so was not following my planned route home. At a certain point I clicked on "Direct To" to return to my home airfield. This route took me very close to the edge of the ATZ for Chichester/Goodwood. I thought it would be a good idea to give them a call on the radio, so clicked on the "Radio" tab. Their frequency wasn't listed but I did eventually find it by clicking on the map.
Would it be possible for the "Radio" tab to list en-route frequencies dynamically? For example, list frequencies within, say, 5 NM either side of my current position of the "Go Direct To" track? Thanks Tony

It did actually used to work like this. We included frequencies from airfields close to you, with an algorithm that prioritised larger airports over smaller ones depending on their distance from your trajectory line.
Unfortunately, the result was hard to use because you'd normally still get around a dozen airfields in the tab, meaning you'd have to touch to open it, then scroll around hunting for the airfield you wanted, before getting your answer. Compared to a single touch on an airfield on the map, when you can already see it and know that you simply want its frequency.

I don't remember seeing that feature. Could it be re-looked at? Perhaps simply show airfield frequencies within, say, a 10 NM circle of your current position? But limit the number shown on the tab to avoid having to scroll? Maybe that is how it worked before? Thanks Tony

That is indeed how it worked before. It made the tab too long to navigate, because you'd still have to look for the one you wanted. Whereas when you're looking for a frequency for an airfield on the map, you already know where it is, and you just have to tap on it.

Hi, I would like to add my experience from France, where we have an awful lot of mil R-Zones. I frequently end up in the situation, where the resp. APP Radio freq, controlling this RZ is not in the list, because the "home APT" is not in the SD range for displaying the frequency in the list. Moreover, if you are not familiar w/ the region, you don't know, where the controller is located. If we cannot have the list w/ all APTs around, could we have all frequencies of special zones, listed in the Flight Details Tab? RGDS hk

The original query here concerned airfield-based frequencies where you already know what airfield you want the frequency for.
Is it not the case that in France, it's the FIS controlled who will know the status of the R zones? The Radio tab should permanently show the current FIS frequency (and the next one) and virtual radar should too.

Is it not the case that in France, it's the FIS controlled who will know the status of the R zones? The Radio tab should permanently show the current FIS frequency (and the next one) and virtual radar should too. I give you 2 examples, to make it clear: 1) Leaving LFBS (southbound) you have to make contact to Cazeau LFBC APP for R31, when above 1000 ft. Usually it's not in the list. 2) Leaving LFBS (eastbound, you have to make contact to LFBC 1st, as before, then you have a short leg w/ FIS (Aquitaine Info), but soon you'll arrive at R115 and you have to make contact w/ Marsan APP, which is usually also not on the list. In most cases, when these zones are active (what FIS knows and tells you), FIS will ask you to contact the resp. APP Service and ask (negotiate) permission for transit. In F there a so many zones, stacked into and over each other, so that you cannot go around them w/out major inconveniences in most cases. So FIS will give you a frequ. and the name of the service, but when you're not familiar w/ the region, the name will most likely be not understandable (especially for foreigners like me). Knowing that you will have to penetrate the zone, a name and frequ. of the upcoming service in the Radio Tab would be very helpful. BR hk

I think that the difficulty Skydemon has is that in the french AIP there are no frequencies attached to most of the R and D zones. Ths AIP only shows where you can get informations about the zone. See the pictures below for the R115 you are referring to, it says you can get information from AQUITAINE INFO, PYRENNEES INFO or MARSAN APP without specifying the frequency to be used !
