Partly because very few SkyDemon users are still using VOR navigation, but also because we'd need quite a lot of people to contribute to this thread indicating they also face the problem. I suppose my point was if the PLOG RNAV vectors is just the arithmetic closest and so could be against different VOR's on a route, it is really very useful then?

B Group: Forum Members Posts: 30, Visits: 265	+x grahamb - 9/3/2025 11:09:03 AM Something that might help is using the 'Track Waypoint' feature. - Long press the single VOR you want to track, to display the 'What's here' pop-up - Touch the VOR in the 'Waypoints' section at the top - Touch 'Track Waypoint' in the 'Navigation' section at the top A running Radial and Distance from the VOR will be shown in the black bar at the top of the chart. I will disappear though if you touch it. Yes I think that is what I did. The track waypoint feature told me where SD said I was (radial/bearing from MID) and I cross checked that against the range/bearing from the onboard VOR/DME equipment.

I went to Redhill and from a cockpit management point of view it was easier to note the range/bearing to a consistent VOR/DME station. However, SD used CPT, then OCK and finally BIG and I didn't want to retune and identify 3 separate stations. So I selected Midhurst (MID) as it gave me the best range/bearing from a single source. Could have used Biggin (BIG) instead but the point is it would be easier to use a single RNAV for a particular phase of flight rather than the arithmetic closest which changes 3 times while doing a zone crossing and final phase of flight. Any thoughts on this Tim?
