+xThe situation in France is the only one we are aware of. Being class E, as others have said, it is of no consequence to VFR pilots and IFR will already be on a flightplan.
I believe at one stage we did show this airspace but since it's only defined by the passage of airways through space, it was rather untidy and made the charts hard to comprehend. I'm not sure the French paper charts even show the extents of such airspace. No, they don't! I was kind of expecting to _only_ see them on vertical profile in SD...

+x+x+xI couldn't find anything in the AIP explicitly defining any class E at that point. However if all airways are considered class E implicitly, then we wouldn't show that in SkyDemon. I presume, some of them should Class E. What happens in general it there is some implied airspace ahead of me? Will I see it if I select Mixed rules? Because if its not, then there is a risk of penetrating some airways...
I don't understand why this is a problem.
If you are VFR, you can operate in Class E without any clearance or radio contact. If you are IFR, you will be on a Flight Plan under a clearance from ATC. Hi Tim,
I mean in general, not just France! What if I hit an airway in a country where it is implied that all airways a Class E & TMZ? For a VFR pilot with Mode-C it is a problem. What if I hit an airway in the UK while flying IFR OCAS and airways is Class A in England and Class E+TMZ+RMZ in Scotland? What is the general principle? Thanks!
Regards, Alex.

+xThanks. I can't comment on why that chart might show class E there but I'll ask NATS. If I recall correctly, they do state somewhere on the chart that its depiction of French airspace shouldn't be considered accurate, so that is a possibility. There is some AIP which (allegedly) specifies that airspace, plus the rule that all airways below FL115 are Class E. I'll come back later on that.

+xSorry I thought you said it was an IGN chart. You're referring to the NATS-produced 1:500,000 UK South chart? Sorry, correct - standard half-mil, paper one.
