I kind of with EHOW on this one. Whilst a lot of Class E seems exactly like class G to the average VFR pilot, there are instances where it's important to be aware of it. For example, Scotland uses Class E for a few of its airways - VFR pilots should probably be aware of these and be in contact with ATC, even if strictly not required
