I have started a new thread in the Beta forum dedicated to trying to resolve this issue.

I have just downloaded the beta and it shows as version 3.6.5.20322.
Is this correct?
I have carried out a very basic quick check (all office based unfortunately....) and the beta works and is, perhaps, only slightly slower than 3.6.2 regarding screen build-up.
I need to re-install 3.6.2, do a few simple operations, then try the same operations with the beta version to see if I can detect any performance differences.

I don't have to enter a login name and password for my SD setup, so can't comment on the reported slow response to character entry.

Thanks for trying it. We are going to need to try a number of things in order to find out what's going on here; I will post again when I have another build available.

APK is working and I could install the Beta. Thanks for the Beta.

I checked on a SG5+  (G901F) with 6.0.1 installed.

 Entering the user name and password at the start-up screen takes about 1-2 second per character.
The build up of menus and screen is still very slow.

Tried with GPU Acceleration ON/OFF but without any notable effect.

We have posted a new beta of SkyDemon for Android on our beta page; if you are affected by a slowdown in versions since 3.6.3 please try it and let me know if there is any change.

I originally bought the iPad because I wanted to use Jeppesen FliteDeck VFR, which has better ground detail than SD. However, after being disgusted by the iPad's poor outdoor performance I knew I had to go to android. Jeppesen doesnt support android so I switched to SD, and I really like it. The point is there are some of us that use SD primarily because it supports android, so it'd be a shame if the android version is being treated as just an afterthought or is actually a shoddy port of the iOS version.

I fly an aircraft with bubble style canopy too, and never ever had any problems reading my iPad's display or had my iPad (Air) shut down during flight.

I've been thinking about buying an Android device in the future for financial reasons, but decided to stay with iPad and iOS the other day after reading about all the problems Android users experience with their devices.

We make our recommendations based on our support burden. Android gives rise to far, far more problems than iOS does. Your average iOS user is at least 300% as delighted with their hardware purchase as your average Android user*. I'm not saying it doesn't have its place, mind you.
