In my experience, the easiest way to run SD fully featured with a reliable faff-free user experience on a Mac is to run it in a virtual Windows machine using something like VirtualBox as a platform.

Hey,

is there an official or actual flight planning tool for OS X?
The download link on the website of SkyDemon doesn't work.

Hi Arne,
Not from SkyDemon. This forum topic is all about trying to make the official windows version of SkyDemon to run on Mac OS X, using a variety of approaches.
Personally, I am not sure what currently is the best option but recent discussions have mentioned Crossover as a way to make it work.
Please share your findings here in the forum for benefit of all.
Regards,
TJ

SkyDemon now working with Crossover 19.0 on OS X 10.15.2 (Catalina).
Windows 10 bottle. Need to install Microsoft.Net 4.7.2 from within program and then install Skydemon (give permission in OS X system pref Security to allow apps downloaded from identified developers)

Hi rk19,
Can you or someone else please confirm SkyDemon works with Crossover v19 and OSX version?? (I'm on Mojave)??

The Crossover product page is not an endorsement as it says "installs but won't run"

Hi Guys,

I have downloaded the latest update of Skydemon, and it seems that I now cannot get access to my waypoints. Keep getting the following message

I am running MacOS High Sierra.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Jon

I couldn't get it working at all with MacOS Catalina 10.15.2
I ended up using bootcamp and downloaded skydemon for windows and its working perfectly.

A web search revealed that it has to do with the initiation file of the wineskin application running in 32bit. Catalina is 64bit. Solutions are being developed but not ready yet.
