Hi Tim,

happend to me yesterday on my way back from the airport which georeferenced plate is now located in the middle of the atlantic sea  ;-))  Approaching EDTG, the georeferenced traffic circuit plate turned black after a few minutes - it´s my home airport, no harm so far, not keen experiencing this one on unfamiliar territory, though.

regards

-mike

...and so do I. At first the plate is present, about 2 minutes later it turns into a black rectangle of the same size and shape. I then closed it manually, reopening it again via the plates menu - black rectangle again.

Tim

I don't know - maybe it's this plate only. I will give you a note when it happens again.

Dear all,

I also face difficulties with (German) georeferenced plates. Sometimes, they just turn completely black (black rectangle of the same size and shape as described by Mike below). Most recently, it happened that the traffic circuit line was very thin (usually it is a thick line). Unpredictable when it happens but, unfortunately, it happens quite frequently and re-touching the tab marker is not a robust solution. You need to try approx 5 or 6 times until the plate re-appears but this is not stable and, frequently, it tuns into black again.

The device is a Samsung Galaxy Tab S LTE (SM-T 805) with Android 5.0.2.

Best regards

In the case of a black rectangle that means the PDF drawing has failed. Such failures are usually transmitted to us for diagnosis the next time you have an internet connection, so if you contact us directly so we can identify your account, we may be able to see the exact error message.

Was playing a bit ...
I used several airport arrival, approach and terminal charts in Germany (Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Friedrichshafen) and Austria (Innsbruck and Zell am See).
After each activation and deactivation of a georeferenced plate I asked my task manager app to check the RAM status:
- Whenever a plate is closed, a certain amount of the (previously) engaged RAM will not be released.
- On my device: As soon as the available RAM drops below about 500 MB while opening a geo-plate, a black plate placeholder will be displayed.
- When the RAM status is very low and you try to open a plate, SD stops working completely (i.e. SD shuts down).
- Observation: German plates use less memory than Austrian ones.

Samsung Galaxy TAB S 8.4, Android 5.0.2, 3GB installed RAM (1.68 available before starting SD)

I think the pdf renderer got memory issues + it is really slow.15-20 sec for the average  geo chart (not to mention austrian behemoths) on a 2.3 ghz/ 2GB RAM Quadcore is a joke!
