A Group: Forum Members Posts: 78, Visits: 137	Glide range is a nice feature. With the new changeable altitude, I would want to use it differently though. Over water, I'd want it down to 0ft. Can I reach any land? all I want is ditch near a beach. Over ground, 1000ft for a somewhat controlled emergency or precautionary landing. Some alternatives: 1. Can we have 2 circles? One inner circle (maybe dashed, or a different color) to whatever set altitude, and an outer (full line) down to 0ft? 2. Can we have 2 settings and an automatic switch, like today where we can choose to display the circle only over water, except switching between 2 values? NB: a search of "glide range" on this forum brings a couple of interesting older threads, which might be interesting to look at too.

I think that would be really useful. However, I can see a problem arising when coasting out or coasting in – at which point would the height setting change? Presumably, the direction of flight would be taken into consideration.
