Is this something you can resolve? I can't really keep it turned off, as there's quite a bit of vertical terrain to contend with up here.

I'm afraid that doesn't make it any more straightforward for us to know what's going on though (or reproduce it) so borrowing the device is still the only option if we're to get anywhere.
