First of all, nothing regarding map font sizing or GPS signal has changed in the beta. It's exactly the same as the 2.0 version in that regard. There was a bug in the initial beta posted on Friday where sync/install with SD card would fail. This is now fixed. If the software crashes when rendering an airfield plate (page 2) there should be a file produced called debug.log in your SkyDemon folder on the device. Please email this to us, this would be very helpful. Thanks!

Thanks Tim I have emailed you the only debug file on my device but it was called debug.txt. My device crashed when looking at the Woodford Plates on the device. Re: the GPS signal, I mentioned, having experimented it is probably a peculiarity of my device. If I close the skydemon by settings, then exit it seems to have a problem when I start the program again. But if I just switch off at the power button it's fine, so that's what I will do. Hope the file is the right one, if not tell me where to find it and I'll send it staright away. Thanks Neil

Further to the above, when viewing the plates. There is no problem viewing and then returning to the chart view I did this a few times. But as you said only when trying to page down to the next page does it crash. Also the routes synced OK with the latest version

Just to confirm nje's findings, any time I use the plate view & "page down" the prog exits. (On a 4.3" Navigo V2, not the newest device I know, but fitted with a larger "4 hour" battery & 32GB card it is quite useful ) I do have the debug.log, but will only email it if you require confirmation. Everything else seems to be working well, so thanks for the continual development. Regards, Max

I went on a short flight today from Hawarden to Woodford and used the new instrument view for most of the way. Groundspeed and altitude were spot on. Following the planned route was straightforward with the bug doing the business and the deviation line steering us in the right direction. We (my son flew into Woodford and I flew back) changed to the chart view about 5 miles out and routed to the extended runway and then switched back to the instrument view where the ils/glideslope kicked in. We saw the distance to threshold appear and got the decent rate and lined up on the centreline. At 500 foot the glideslope disappeared and the ils line slowly moved accross to the left of the screen (wasn't sure if that was supposed to happen or not). It wasn't needed anymore at that point anyway.Well done SD team

That was very good. Congratulations. I understand height or elevation will need to be calibrated for each particular set, while the speed should be correct as is, am I right? Any idea about the easiest way to retain the set calibration so that it would not have to be repeated for every subsequent flight? Thanks

After a bit more playing, I noticed a slight problem with the switching of views between Chart view and Instrument view. Instrument view to Chart view When in instrument view the switching screens works OK by using the blue skydemon button then 'chart view' in the top left hand corner of the screen and it also works when you run your finger downwards on the HSI. Chart view to Instrument view When in Chart view, pressing the blue skydemon button then 'instrument view' also works, but it doesn't work when you run your finger/stylus upward in the virtual radar window. What does work though and I didn't know this before is that by running your finger left to right in the virtual radar window, the 'direct to' opens up

Hi nje -
Chart view to Instrument view: This works for me. You need to start your upward swipe in the virtual radar area, *and* continue the swipe all the way into the main chart area. If you just swipe upward within the virtual radar area then it doesn't do anything.
Didn't know about the direct-to sideways swipe ... thanks for the info!
James.

So, who can find all the hidden "swipe" gestures we've added to things?
