I've just updated my Nexus 7 to v5 or lolipop or whatever Google's latest iteration is called.
The problem is non of the 'keep screen' apps seem to work on it now, including the one I had on the machine.
This is serious for navigating as the most you can hold the screen for using the settings screen is 30mins.

So if you're asked to upgrade don't, unless you know more about this stuff than I do ( not difficult)

And if you do know about this stuff can you help me with something that will keep the SkyDemon screen alive for more than 30 mins.

19 hours of simulation / flying with Xplane / all the tricks I use for a long time to stress SD.
Not a single error, not a crash.

Android 5.02 and SD 3.2.1.23341:

-8.5 hours simulation flight without problems
- planning mode no problems, performance ok
- navigation mode: first crash after appr. 1 hours flight, second crash after another 2 hours flight. The SD app terminated complete, no freezing.

Are you sure that you are using the latest beta published yesterday (30 March)?

Hi Sean

Firstly, go to Settings>Security>Unknown Sources  and make sure that the slider switch is set to 'On' then go here:-

http://www.skydemon.aero/start/android.aspx

and tap the download link. When the download has completed, tap the file and then tap on 'Install'

Got it. Will give it a whirl when the wind drops. I have even had occasional issues just opening SD on my Nexus as it would immediately default to the recent apps screen and also a few crashes when in nav mode. I have all the instructions here to go back to Kitkat but reluctant to do that unless necessary and I know that Tim's team will be doing everything to iron out the bugs where they can.

I've only had the opportunity to test it in simulation mode since installation, but so far, no problems at all. Looking forward to flight testing it at the weekend

No, I did not. I tested with the old beta from March 24.
I will repeat the test with the new version.
