I have now upgraded my Nexus 7 to Android 5.1.0 from 5.0.2 and run a simulation for 24 hours without any problems Smile

I've found it can work perfectly under the simulation, but breaks when used in anger, so personally I never bother using it as a test

I have now upgraded my Nexus 7 to Android 5.1.0 from 5.0.2 ...

Were you offered the upgrade, or did you have to go looking for it?

I was offered it (on Nexus 7 2012). You can install it yourself for 2012 or 2013 version using the root toolkit available at http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/ .

Hi Peter,
Was this using the 30th March Beta version?

Haven't used the beta, but the simulator doesn't quite reflect the real world usage.

In all previous instances I've found the problems only really appear when I use it in the car or aircraft. The simulator works well enough and doesn't crash, possibly because it isn't using location services. When I moved to 5.0.2 I tried a simulation and there were no signs of the problems I experienced in the air, so I'd always use a real-world test myself

I don't believe that Android 5.1 has been released yet for the Nexus 7 (2013).

The list of officially released versions of the operating system is available at:

https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

See the section labelled "Razor".  As of today, 2 April, the latest release is still 5.0.2

Mike,
Nakasi is for the Nexus 7 2012. I think thar George is correct that there is no official release yet for the 2013 model.

Latest beta seems very stable on 4.4.4 & 5.0.2 , better than I have ever experienced with previous versions, ...well done!!

Time to try 5.1 on the 2012 nexus....
