I am unable to remove Airways in the new version of SD.
In the area around Copenhagen there are shown a lot of airways (total of 9).
The airways are of no use for VFR and only clutters the map and creates confusion.
Any way to get rid of them?

What do you have 'When Planning, Hide Features Above...' set to on Map Layers?

N850 and N872 are at FL95 so you shouldn't be seeing them unless you have changed the above setting.

L975 starts at 3500ft, so you probably do want to see that one!

Steve,

I do not want to see any of them since when flying VFR I only have to relate to TMA's and control zones and never Airways.
Take a look at the Danish VFR ICAO-chart and you will not see any Airways.
Here is a link to the latest edition.

Hope you are able to remove them one way or the other.

The Map Layers menu is not available on PC and on iPad airways are shown cluttering the map even if you hide features above 4.000 ft.
In addition I might want fly higher than that so this is no solution to the problem.

Best regards.

The equivalent 'Map Layers' menu on the PC version is 'Mapping'

I understand what you mean now - those Airways around Copenhagen are contained within their various TMAs, so you could safely hide them.

You'll have to wait for someone from SkyDemon to comment (I don't work for them!)

Thanks for your answer.
I understand that Mapping is equal to Map Layers but you can not hide anything there. Sad

We have re-enabled hiding of airways by grouping them with controlled airspace in the next version.

However I do not believe that will solve this specific problem, which is that many Danish airways poke out of the TMA as defined in the AIP. Unless we are misreading the AIP, that is.

Hi Tim,

Why don't you just remove the airways so your map looks like the official Danish map?

While we are at your map I have earlier pointed out (sent an email) that your map is missing a couple of class C TMA-areas north of Copenhagen.

Here they are framed by thick lines:

The official source for airspace data is the Danish AIP, not a chart. I'm going to email you so we can get this resolved once and for all.

For the UK, SD charts in VFR mode show airways where the base of the airway is at the same altitude/level as other airspace of the same class, whereas the UK CAA half million VFR charts do not show those airways. An example is airway L10 over Milton Keynes in Bedfordshire where both the airway and the London TMA have a base of 5,500 ft. I would find it more helpful if the SD charts looked more similar to the CAA VFR charts. What is the reason for the different approach?
