SkyDemon uses wind data from the global forecast system and interpolates through the route for maximum accuracy (despite being based on a forecast). The wind value shown in the PLOG is the average wind experienced over a whole leg.

Hi there,

I was planning a flight today and I tried to replicate the SD plog using traditional methods.

Winds aloft for Dublin are 064/15 right now in SD (2pm local on 19th May) whereas

USAF Winds are: 050/03

Irish Met are: 080/10

Is it possible to get more insight into the wind calculations. I presume SD is using more datapoints in the GFS model and is more reliable (it seems to have different winds every few nm available) but more information would be good.

Cheers
