Hi

Are frequencies updated as and when they change?

I have noticed a few inaccuracies particularly in the Rennes area and around Lannion which have changed well over a year ago.

Just wondering if the actual airspace data is also out of date or whether they are updated independently of each other.

Thanks

To all,

I find this question particularly pertinent and important. If we are to use Skydemon to plan flights, we must rely on the data being accurate. If airspaces are innacurat nor updated and frequencies are out dated, then all the data which Skydemon provides must be double checked item by item. This means that flight planning on original updated official documents would take no longer than doing it with Skydemon plus double checking.

I know that Skydemon says that they are not commited to accuracy and that it's up to the pilot to ascertain that the flight plan he will use has been properly checked however Skydemon should provide a reasonable level of accuracy. Donket89 does point out some rather serious faults.

I do hope that Skydemon will respond quickly to this post as the original post is more than 10 days old with no response.

Thanks,
Michèle

Frequencies are updated every 28 days as they are changed in the national AIP on the AIRAC cycle. If you locate any specific airfields or airspace for which the frequencies are appearing as incorrect, please let us know which they are specifically and we can check our data. Can you elaborate on your original post with this please?

Hi Tim,

Thanks for your reply.

The ones I picked out were around the Rennes area.

For example, Rennes TMA is split North/South - the northern TMA frequency is 126.950, south 134.000, but currently both are showing 134.000 (this change came in about 2 years ago if memory serves)

The other was Iroise approach, but that appears to have corrected itself in the latest update.

My question really was focusing on whether the airspace data (geography etc) itself was accurate and could be relied upon. I note some towns are also slightly misplaced against motorways up near Cherbourg (Montebourg for example is slightly out, as are a few others along that road, when compared to the half mil) although I have read elsewhere that the primary focus is for the airspace data to be correct - which is fine.

Thanks.

PS is it possible to show the french SIV (FIS) boundaries on the map? They currently only appear in the plog view but it would be quite nice to have an option to display these sector boundaries on the map itself - a suggestion, if not there already!

I'll check into the Rennes TMA issue, but it might be that the airspace is defined as one "lump" in the AIP. SkyDemon can have only one frequency associated with a piece of airspace, so we may need to split the airspace into two to artifically make both frequencies appear.
