Whatever the problem is, it's not going to be the one this thread was started for 5 years ago. It might be best to give support a call, as there are any number of factors involved with weight and balance issues.

Hello,

I have possibliy the same problem or a little bit different.

First of all I fly helicopters and currently use the R44 II file provided from the forum. I've adjusted all the long and lat CGs but maybe there is a problem in displaying the lateral CG which is not shown in the W&B section in the software.

1. If I fill in some positions on the W&B window in the upper right corner, there is no change in the chart below.
2. I can't enter any mass of fuel in the Flight Details window down on the right hand side. I can see all the different positions of fuel needed and maybe corretly calculated by SD, but I have no possibility to change/enter the amount of fuel I am going to take.

Would be pleased to get some help on this.

Cheers,
Thomas.

Interesting; this sounds like it might be a bug in our software. Could you confirm whether you are using SkyDemon Plan or SkyDemon Web for your planning?

After a bit of playing around I have found an answer to my own question:

After moving the slider on the Fuel Plan to reduce the fuel load, I clicked on the Flight Details window next to the fuel slider.  This had the effect of updating the fuel weight automatically.  Provided I had reduced the fuel enough the Weight/Balance window no longer highlighted red showing the aircraft overweight.  However, the Weight/Balance window still showed the original fuel weight in the figures.  To remedy this I clicked the Weight/Balance window as well, immediately next to where it says "Fuel".  This had the effect of changing the fuel weight figures to the read correct amount.

Once I mastered this it meant that by having both the Flight Details and Weight/Balance windows open at the same time I was able to iterate the fuel load so that I was able to quickly find out the maximum fuel load/payload I could carry to stay below maximum permitted weight for the aircraft.

I have just got a Skydemon GPS as an Xmas present and think its great.  However there is something that I have found that I am not sure if I am causing an error as I am new user or if there is a program feature that I don't understand.

The documentation says about weight and balance:

"All the values apart from Fuel need to be entered manually. The Fuel value can also be adjusted manually if you wish, but it will be overwritten when the fuel plan is next updated."

However I prepared for flights where a full tank of fuel and passengers has put me over weight.  The weight/balance window has flagged up red, so I have gone back to the flight details window and reduced the fuel load using the slider.

However when I look at the weight/balance window, the fuel weight has not reduced to reflect the change I have made to the fuel plan.  It still appears to show a full load of fuel weight.  i.e. the fuel plan update does not seem to adjust the fuel weight automatically when it is changed.

The only solution I have found is to manually calculate the reduced fuel weight and manually re-enter it into the weight/balance window to get my weight/balance window to show the correct fuel weight and confirm I am within limits.

Can anyone advise if I am missing something ?

Thanks
