+x+xSame issue here with a Samsung ActiveTab 3. Other apps work fine (e.g. windy), so I'm inclined to believe this is an issue with SkyDemon? I think Windy uses your internet IP address to locate you rather using GPS so you're not going to get a comparison that way.
I have just tested Windy and "find my location". I am almost 100% sure it uses GPS as it has pinpointed my location precisely which is in a semi-rural location. I don't think IP addresses are that accurate with regards to pin pointing a specific location.

To clarify further, Windy was just an example, I tried various apps with data turned off, and SkyDemon was the only one that couldn't identify my location.

A bit of Googling shows that Windy does indeed use GPS along with all other sources if needed so my apologies for that. You learn something every day.
Both my Samsung A9's took a software update this morning (UI. 8 / Android 16) and both ran SD fine on a short flight this afternoon using the built in 'Location Services'.

All good, I appreciate that you were trying to troubleshoot! More often than not simple troubleshooting resolves such issues.. In this case it doesn't seem to be that simple.
Active Tab 3 is stuck on Android 13/UI 5.1.1 which is the latest supported.
Update - tested again today and GPS is working normally again!

Hello, You must avoid to mix different problems. Older Samsung o.s. need precision localization to be set on. (For sure up to 13, not tested for 14/15) Latest Samsung android 16 need (must have) precision localization to be set off🙄 and some other settings. Giving answers that are not relative to the same android O.S. may introduce user in deep confusion !
The first setting is to get a gps fix before android 16. It's not an issue, it is a feature. (Set On) The second setting is to avoid erratic jumping of the position in flight with android 16. (Set off + other settings) These are two different situations.
In my mind I expected some support from SD, but I sincerely agree that SD is not responsible for the s*** going on between goggle and Samsung, adding to that, that Samsung sells the products without seeing the issue (lack of testing in case the user is moving) and Samsung was first trying to blame the developers, and now they realized that it is an android 16 failure...as well as their own for not testing it "out of Sofa mode" before selling the products.
Don't buy devices with android 16 or pray for an update. If too late, I can't give you the spoiler now, cause we are preparing an article for our french news paper comming out Jun.26. It will work but with restrictions on board. So choose something without android 16 if you don't want to drag a situation around like a ball and chain. Hth.

It's definitily a Samsung Tablet issue because SD is working on Android 16 on Mobile. SD and Garmin Pilot (I'm using both) are now both having a GPS problem. Neither of them can display GPS location. And yes, precises location, app access to GPS and all those required configs are on point on the tablet.
It definitily is a Samsung Tablet problem! I'm an all around Samsung user, but this is so disappointing from Samsung.

Hi, I was hoping that the UI one 8.5 update would solve the problem, but unfortunately it happened again today ! Samson and Google's pride is back in full swing. ☹️ Read carefully : - set "Precision localisation" (the s*** that use Wifi and BT and PhoneNet) to DEACTIVATED !!! - But allow in the SD application settings /localisation/ "use précise localisation ...YES !! 🤯🥳 - If the bug appears despit these settings while you are inflight, switch to "plane mode" to kill all net. - do that for all on board cell phones and tabs also !! - once you live the aeras where the bug appears (two nautic away), you may set the cellphone and data functions ON again. (Quit plane mode). Et voilà ! Repeat each time you fly to low and (for time to time) catch a networks that is triggering the issue. 😒 Good to know, it appears mainly on ground or while you are play touch and go. (Take care, you main lose your direction if you don't notice quickly) I'm alway using a backup navigation system, not with UI 8.0 not 8.5, and not with SD, and not Samsung... 🥳👍
Google engineers and managers seems to be obsessed by the idea that you are currently at Walmart and you are looking for a pizza !!!! So F*** the gnss (burk, can we eat gnss??) it urges to find a pisssza using wiifiii and BT and your neighbor connected watch, and we will all we can to guide you to the pisszzaaaa and coke ! It seems that google interest to guide you using gnss... is a ...an ... a what ? Are there pisszaa in gnss ?? Does it work underground, between building ? Ha ha gnss is a joke, let me guide you with wifi and other phone network... Boss, I promis you may software is working fine !!!
Btw, it is still a shame for Samsung and google who are both pizza eaters.

Btw, it is still a shame for Samsung and google who are both pizza eaters. Read : once you leave the aeras (and not once you live the aeras 🥴) News: Samsung update from one UI 8.0 to One UI 8.5 did not solve the issue. By the way buying a new Samsung device in order to use it with SkyDemon could result in a real crash. I.e. at take off Sky Demon will indicate you MUST turn, turn ..turn... But in fact SkyDemon lost the direction and is pointing out a bad heading 😰🤯 making you turning around what ever you do, with the a risk of collision over busy airfields. In detail, the litle plane on the map is pointing a (bug) direction with i.e. +100° (your real heading and track is 170, SD indicate 270!) If you don't notice the bug you will turn left to go 170... When SD point 170 ou are true tracking 70 !! You may cut the way of other airplanes that are on the regular way !! In between, your trace remains aproximatively correct, which lead in a late détection of the bug from the pilot. You may realize that you trace goes 70 while your track shows 170... SD does not have control over direct gps data (raw data) SD use the high level ready to use data, provided from google/android which is sometimes corrupted through wifi or cellphone net. When you start SD after an update, it's mandatory to set high précision (with the bug !).😰 Once you have the satellites you may switch high precision off (and SD will not notice....😶) For time to time, you will also have to Switch all net to off (your device, passengers cell phone, all on board wifi). After two minutes once the bug disapeared, you may switch them on again. Good luck, Of course, if you use new Samsung One UI 8.0 or 8.5 it is mandatory to have a GPS backup system running apart during all the flight time. The competitors didn't find the solution either. The underlying bug likely originates from Google.
