No GPS location on Samsung tablet

No GPS location on Samsung tablet

Other apps work fine (e.g. windy), so I'm inclined to believe this is an issue with SkyDemon? I think Windy uses your internet IP address to locate you rather using GPS so you're not going to get a comparison that way. I have just tested Windy and "find my location". I am almost 100% sure it uses GPS as it has pinpointed my location precisely which is in a semi-rural location. I don't think IP addresses are that accurate with regards to pin pointing a specific location.

To clarify further, Windy was just an example, I tried various apps with data turned off, and SkyDemon was the only one that couldn't identify my location.

Both my Samsung A9's took a software update this morning (UI. 8 / Android 16) and both ran SD fine on a short flight this afternoon using the built in 'Location Services'.

All good, I appreciate that you were trying to troubleshoot! More often than not simple troubleshooting resolves such issues.. In this case it doesn't seem to be that simple. Active Tab 3 is stuck on Android 13/UI 5.1.1 which is the latest supported. Update - tested again today and GPS is working normally again! Edited 3/20/2026 4:05:31 PM by paalia
