No GPS location on Samsung tablet

Hi folks,

since my last flight about two weeks ago my Samsung Tablet S9 with Anroid 16 can’t get any location data from the built in GPS. My backup Samsung phone works correct.
At home the same problem occurs with an older Samsung Tablet S3 running Android 9. We use both tablets without any issues for years. All other GPS based apps like Google Maps or Windy are working correct. When I tap on the location button on the bottom right corner the GPS sign in the status bar on the top right corner appears for a few seconds followed by the message "Your location cannot be obtained at this time"
I’ve already tried restarting the tablets, using older SkyDemon versions, checking app permissions and settings and so on without any sucess.
The problem only occurs on the tablets, our Samsung smartphones SkyDemon retrieves the location data. All devices use the same permissions and settings!

Does anyone have any ideas?

Greetings
Bernd

It's definitily a Samsung Tablet issue because SD is working on Android 16 on Mobile. SD and Garmin Pilot (I'm using both) are now both having a GPS problem. Neither of them can display GPS location. And yes, precises location, app access to GPS and all those required configs are on point on the tablet.

It definitily is a Samsung Tablet problem!
I'm an all around Samsung user, but this is so disappointing from Samsung.

Hi,
I was hoping that the UI one 8.5 update would solve the problem, but unfortunately it happened again today !
Samson and Google's pride is back in full swing. ☹️
Read carefully :
- set "Precision localisation" (the s*** that use Wifi and BT and PhoneNet) to DEACTIVATED !!!
- But allow in the SD application settings  /localisation/ "use précise localisation ...YES !! 🤯🥳
- If the bug appears despit these settings while you are inflight, switch to "plane mode" to kill all net.
- do that for all on board cell phones and tabs also !!
- once you live the aeras where the bug appears (two nautic away), you may set the cellphone and data functions ON again. (Quit plane mode).
Et voilà !
Repeat each time you fly to low and (for time to time) catch a networks that is triggering the issue. 😒
Good to know, it appears mainly on ground or while you are play touch and go. (Take care, you main lose your direction if you don't notice quickly) I'm alway using a backup navigation system, not with UI 8.0 not 8.5, and not with SD, and not Samsung... 🥳👍

Google engineers and managers seems to be obsessed by the idea that you are currently at Walmart and you are looking for a pizza !!!! So F*** the gnss (burk, can we eat gnss??) it urges to find a pisssza using wiifiii and BT and your neighbor connected watch, and we will  all we can to guide you to the pisszzaaaa and coke !
It seems that google interest to guide you using gnss... is a ...an ... a what ? Are there pisszaa in gnss ??
Does it work underground, between building ? Ha ha gnss is a joke, let me guide you with wifi and other phone network...
Boss, I promis you may software is working fine !!!

Btw, it is still a shame for Samsung and google who are both pizza eaters.
