Is there any way custom functions can be programmed into SkyDemon?
I'm just thinking about a feature to enable guidance to landing areas in the event of engine failure at night.
The rough idea is I generate a set of pseudo airfields by examining maps etc. These would typically be fields that have clear approaches, enough space etc. For each I would choose one or more arbitrary 'runways'.
In the event of an engine failure some UI control would call up a process to load all the pseudo airfields within say 5 miles of the aircraft current GPS position. They would then appear on SkyDemon along with the normal indicators of 'runways'. Ideally the synthetic ILS glidepath would be changed to say 8 degrees.
The pilot could then use the in-built glide zone feature to pick a pseudo airfield to aim for.
Any programming features available?
