Times of activity 19 December 2019 0700 - 25 March 2020 2359, HX. The times of activity depend on those of the Wittmund control zone. The following information on the times of activity gives a rough indication concerning the expected activation: Mon-Thu 0700-2200, Fri 0700-1200. Activation outside the times published and/or deactivation within these times is possible at all times and will be announced by NOTAM. Information about the current status of the tmz Wittmund may be requested on frequencies 118.730 MHZ (Wittmund tower), 131.015 MHZ (Wittmund radar) or 125.100 MHZ (Langen information). In the tmz Wittmund, aircraft flying under VFR, except for model aircraft and unmanned aircraft systems, shall be equipped with an automatic altitude reporting transponder and shall set their transponder to code 7000 without request to do so. Exceptions from this obligation may be granted by the competent ATC unit via Wittmund radar via written agreement or radiotelephony if the safety of air traffic is not impaired. In addition, the following urgent recommendation applies: in addition to setting transponder code 4472, it is highly recommended to maintain continuous air-ground voice communication watch on frequency 131.015 MHZ (Wittmund radar) when flying in the tmz. 1000FT AGL - 5000FT AMSL.
