I am having a couple of issues with the software at the moment.

1 I cannot drag the route line once I have set start and destination points ( although this was possible when using evaluation prog. since I have purchased the license this feature has gone?)

2 I have tried to manually input waypoints with absolutely no success using the waypoint insertion tab. This is most annoying as I have had to sit and tap the screen a fraction at a time to try and get position exact (didnt happen but as close as I was able without spitting the dummy and hurling pc at the nearest wall LOL)

I can still drag route on the desktop pc but same problem with adding waypoints.

Any help most welcome.

I will contact skydemon after the easter break to try and resolve this

Cheers

William

Are you using this tablet device with a mouse, or using the touchscreen?

If using the touchscreen, are you using a stylus or your finger?

Most touchscreens need a double tap to drag. You double tap, then keep your finger down on the second tap whilst dragging. Practice by moving your icons around on the desktop first. It can be tricky.

If you're using a proper stylus, there may be some settings in the driver which affect how 'dragging' works.

With regard to manually entering coordinates, they must be entered in an exact manner. For example:-

N 50º57'32" E0º21'18" must be entered as:-

N505732 E0002118

If you need greater precision (unlikely!), you can use decimal seconds:-

N505732.34 E0002118.56

I use a UMPC tablet. But for planning I also use a small USB mouse with retractable cable. Takes up no room and much easier to be precise.

Hi Steve thanks for that by a wee bit of trial and error have managed to drag route tap twice and hold till line changes colour then it can be moved.

I have tried to enter the waypoints as suggested but am obviously still not doing it correctly as the box remains greyed out and wont let me save it.I even changed the settings I have hovered over an area on the map copied the co ordinates to a piece of paper and tried to enter them manually still no luck.

I have a USB mouse to help with flight planning and would love a retractable table but I think the mouse might go AWOL as I fly a quik

Thanks for the help so far guys

will keep you posted on my progress

Cheers

William

You didn't say whether you were using your finger or a stylus. Have you had a look at the mouse driver settings yet to see if there are any options to tune how the dragging works.

If it's not accepting LAT/LONG, then you are definitely doing it wrong. Give me the co-ordinates you are trying to enter, and I'll show you how to do it.

One other way is to start by entering the main waypoins  .. say two airfields, start & end. Then tap and hold on a point to which you want to "drag" the line. You will then be given the option to "insert" that point between the first 2.

I have use this method quite easily to go around airspace etc while en route. Think it wd also be feasible in a flexwing.
