You need to be logged in to this forum in order to download files posted here (unfortunately).

In your personal documents folder there should be a SkyDemon folder. Within that, there should be an Aircraft folder. Just create it if it's not there. Save your aircraft in that folder, ensuring your browser does not change the file extension (it should be .aircraft).

In file view properties, deselect hide extensions for known file types.
You should now see aircraft-type.xml as the file type
Right click and rename to aircraft-type.aircraft
Ignore the warning about changing the file extension
Hope this helps

Tried doing what you suggested but still not having any luck! When I rigt cick on the attachment it says 'save target as' etc and then it opens the aircraft folder. When I try to save it all it comes up with in the drop down menue is 'all fies' or XML

I don't know where the 'file' 'view' 'properties' are located

If using Windows 7, open a folder.
At the top right where it says Organize, click and you will get a drop down menu.
Select Folder and Search options
A window with 3 tabs will open.
Select View
About half way down you will see Hide extensions for known file types
Click the box to remove the tick, then Apply - bottom right followed by OK - bottom left to close the window.
When you re-open the SD folder then Aircraft folder, you will see the aircraft type followed by the extension e.g. Cessna.xxx
Right click this and select Rename.
Change .xxx to .aircraft
Windows will warn you about changing the file extension. Click to disregard the warning
Hope this is of some help
Regards

what do you do when you work on the web based sd i have tried to change the envelope, but just opening it results in the envelope changes (without actually entering other numbers) suggestions are very welcome
apart from that it is a great program, and work well on my iPad also !

Hi,

Is it possible to use these aircraft files on the iPad version? If so, how?

Thanks,
Andy Thompson
