Is it possible to add notification about 'next leg hdg' into the main map panel (along with fields GS, ETA, ALTITUDE etc.) so the next bearing will be visible all the time while flying without need of going to pilot's log?
At the moment You can only choose in setup>instruments "Show Track" option which is actually doubling with what is being placed on DI.
‌‌Thanks‌‌

You can get to the PLOG with one touch (on the position readout at the top of the screen) or simply touch the next leg to see its details including (I believe) the heading to fly.

Well I fly cessna 152 and I think it is not a good idea in tapping next planned leg (it is very narrow line btw) on the screen while being f.ex. in turbulence on short legs when simultanously You have to deal with all what is going on outside. Next HDG is a crucial info. One look and You know where You have to be going in f.ex 1 minute. At the moment You Guys offer present Track option next to GS and ETA etc. which is useless, cause You placed it well and visible on DI. More valuable would be next leg HDG.
Maybe I'm wrong‌ but in my opinion as a pilot, switching (tapping) to LOG anytime You need something is not a good idea. I know I can do it but why not having it in shorter time. I need one number, in LOG You have many numbers.

We certainly value that opinion, and will wait to see if others weigh in on this thread. Personally I feel that having a permanent display of the heading you will need on your NEXT leg is a waste of screen space. Just my humble opinion.

If it is a waste one can turn it off. It would be nice if this would be an OPTION in setup>instruments and not permanent. That was not my intention to put it there on solid.
‌I think for one pilot my idea is a waste of place but for another pilot doubling present Track info could be also a waste of screen place.

Good idea to have the next heading on the map screen - maybe just give the possibility to switch the blue TRK T box. (Just like the switch between DST NXT and DST END).

Funny, there is an article on boldmethod today about this problem and what it does to a G1000 (http://www.boldmethod.com/learn-to-fly/navigation/what-is-the-airplane-doing-now/ )

Nicely described as "Turn Anticipation - Most of the waypoints on a GPS approach are "fly-by" waypoints, which means you might not fly over them. Or get even close to them, for that matter. Your GPS calculates the most efficient turn on to your next course, and then 'cuts the corner' to make a smooth turn between course segments.‌‌"

SD also takes a while until it switches to the next track leg and displays the new heading‌‌ - this is the reason why the display of the next heading sounds like a good idea.

Hi all,

‌How about displaying the next heading info automatically say 1 or 2 min before getting to the point where heading change is expected to happen ?
‌This would allow, based on actual speed, some consistency as to when to provide the info; i.e. not too early but not too late.
‌Having said that, it does not mean that this option should not be programmable by the user.
‌Cheers,
‌Jose

Maybe I am too simple minded but when I fly VFR i couldn't care less about SD guiding me through a turn from one leg to the next one. I look down and see the landmark where the waypoint is and then just do a smooth turn. I don't care to make things more complicated than they need to be and thank SD fpr not force feeding me with such stuff either.

That said, IFR flying is a different beast. But SD is stric‌‌tly for VFR.

‌Hi Chris,
‌The point was about getting the new heading info available on the screen without any finger action rather than a reminder that one should do a turn.
‌Never mind.
‌Granted. we can survive without such a feature :-)
