+x+xMaybe I am too simple minded but when I fly VFR i couldn't care less about SD guiding me through a turn from one leg to the next one. I look down and see the landmark where the waypoint is and then just do a smooth turn. I don't care to make things more complicated than they need to be and thank SD fpr not force feeding me with such stuff either. That said, IFR flying is a different beast. But SD is strictly for VFR. -- Chris. Hi Chris, The point was about getting the new heading info available on the screen without any finger action rather than a reminder that one should do a turn. Never mind. Granted. we can survive without such a feature :-) Jose SD does display " turn now onto xxx degrees" or similar message, for about 5 seconds approaching the next leg. Also, is clear on SD display. Just turn to follow the next magenta line.. Also, the instrument at bottom of screen shows next heading to turn on to...

+xAlso, the heading for the next leg is displayed on the next leg, when you are approaching the end of the current leg. It's just there; no option, nothing to press, it's displayed for exactly the reason given: you'd like it. I’d forgotten about that!

+xI would also appreciate to know the next heading without getting the pilot log. I like to turn to the next planed point on the aircraft HSI when I am above the current planned point. I would like to know what angle to turn to. There is a DST NXT and ETA NXT, but no HDG NXT. Something similar in purple is in the DI, but I think that's the next track, not the next heading, so different in 2 ways: wind correction and magnetic correction. Also missing is NXT ALT, but I understand this may be a bit difficult with climbing/descending before or after the point. I do not know when these existing display items switch to the next point, but as someone suggested switching to the "next next" point 1 minute before passing the "current next" point would be nice. I wouldn't mind a distinct sound when it switches, too. Just a thought, but if you touch on any leg’s track on the chart, it will overlay it with a box showing Mag Heading, leg distance and time for seven or eight seconds. If the leg is really short, it will just display in the Mag Heading. Does that work for you?

Maybe show next leg heading in the area where the landing airfield is normally displayed when you get within a certain distance/time of the turn? Might make sense that this box is all about preparing for the next waypoint, whether it be landing aerodrome info or next leg data. Perhaps combine with the frequency of the nearest airfield to that waypoint (useful if you're routing overhead somewhere without needing to jump through various screens to find it), or navaid frequency if appropriate.

I just turn the aircraft until the trajectory line is parallel to the next track line. (I make a point of almost never flying exactly on the magenta line between recognised waypoints in case I met someone else doing the same coming the other way!)

Hi Chris, The point was about getting the new heading info available on the screen without any finger action and not getting a reminder that one should do a turn. Never mind. Granted. We can survive without such a feature :-) Jose

That said, IFR flying is a different beast. But SD is strictly for VFR.
