Hi there,

I've recently updated my PC to Windows 10 (in place upgrade) and also updated to the latest version of SkyDemon - quite frequently I keep receiving the following message - 'This device is no longer logged in to the SkyDemon system. This may be because you have logged in elsewhere. To resolve..... '

I have SkyDemon installed on my PC, iPhone and iPad - no other installations anywhere. Is there any reason this may be happening - I've never had the issue on Windows 7. I can use SkyDemon for a couple of days on the PC and it is fine and then the next time I boot and log in - I get the message. There doesn't appear to be any logic as to when it happens.

Edit - I should add that the iPhone and iPad don't appear to be effected by the issue - just the PC.

Thanks
Rob

There is probably something subtly changing about your PC which makes SkyDemon think it's a different device. We're going to take a look into this over the next few months and see if we can make this work better on Windows 10, which seems to be where the issue is occurring.

Tim - Thanks for picking up on this. I have the same issue, and so do many others it seems.
Our I.T. manager observed that Windows 10 has been known to do this to other programmes, not just Sky Demon.
A fix from the wizards at Clark House would be much appreciated.

It should have been fixed (for Windows 10) in the latest 3.6.6 version.

Hi,
I‌ have the same problem, occurred at the first open of SkyDemon PC, after the updating at the version 3.6.6 for Windows.
I‌ have a Windows 10 system, fully updated, and when I had opened Skydemon, I've received the message:
"There was a communications error during operation "Download Chart Availability". Check that you are connected to the internet and try again. This device is no longer logged in the SkyDemon system. This may be because you have logged in elsewhere. To resolve, open the Setup menu and choose Log Out, then log back again."

I try to log out, but I receive the message:
‌‌"Your existing license could not be deleted automatically. Please delete the license.skdl file yourself from your Skydemon folder and restart SkyDemon...."

T‌hen, I had deleted the file license.skdl from the folder of SkyDemon. At the re-opening of Skydemon, I have typed my email and my password, and I receive the message:
"‌Failed to save your login data to disk. Please check that the file below is not write-protected and try again".
O‌bviosly I tried to remove the flag Write-protection from the folder setting, but this operation don't fix the problem.

I‌'ve also tried‌ to un-install and re-install skydemon, but all the same problem. How I can fix it?

G‌reetings,
M‌atteo A.
‌‌

Your computer is preventing SkyDemon from writing to the SkyDemon folder within your My Documents folder. There is nothing we can do about this ourselves; SkyDemon needs to be able to save data on your computer and that's a location where we should absolutely have permission to do so. Something on your computer, possibly "security" software, has denied the user account under which SkyDemon is running permission to write to that folder.
