Perhaps you could give an example of a route into a specific airfield, where you believe the approach chart appears automatically too late for you? Are you aware you can show them manually at any time?

I think in general we only show embedded PDFs when you are close to their area of coverage. But the rules may vary depending upon whether they're approach charts or aerodrome charts. You'll have to specify which, in order for us to give more detail.
Okay, thank you. Actually, I did not study the newest Manual.
I just tried "on the Job".
In fact with the Patterns on map, I can Show them at my choice by zooming in (enough). but for the Approach maps it seems not to be a question of zoom Level but of distance.
I simply want to have more time to tune my Approach.

For the german Airports there is a significant increase in comfort with the new Patterns visible in the main map -even without the separate purchased AIP.
AFAIK they appear when zooming in to a certain scale.
On the other side in other countries the AIP- Chart appears only when I am pretty Close to the Destination Airport.
Both - the scale when the circuit pattern appears and the distance when the Chart appears seem not completely satisfying for me.
i would love to have it appear earlier/ at bigger scales.
Is there a Setting available, where I can configure the map scale and/or the distance when more deatiled Information appears ?
Hello,
This might help you : have a look at page 76, 2nd paragraph of the July 8th, 2016 SD User Guide edition.
It shows where and how to set the distance from an airfield georeferenced plate to show up.
You can access the Mapping menu on iPad, iPhone and Android via the Mapping button on the top toolbar when in Planning mode, or by touching the blue Map Layers button in the bottom right-hand corner of the map when planning and in flight, to bring up the same mapping options.
For text option, see page 12 of current SD User Guide (last sentence)
Hope this helps.
José
