The US is, again, much more user friendly. You simply ask for "progressive taxi instructions" and are hand led to your parking position by the Ground controller.

We will consider adding parking/docking charts at our next development meeting. Quite unusual for a ground controller not being willing to provide progressive taxi instructions.

Good evening Tim,
If you use EAD you are right, I do not know why on EAD are separate and on ENAV-AIP web site is a single file: Map and Docking.
The problem in Italy is that after you land the TWR or the Ground, always instruct you to taxi to a designated apron and to park on a designated stand number, this apply to large aircraft but also to small single.
LIRZ was a case, but recently I landed on Olbia LIEO (nice Sardinia) and I was embarrassed when TWR instruct me to exit to A and GND instruct me to Apron 3 on stand n. xx. I answered: I do not know where this stand is, an annoyed GND guy told me that the parking plan is published and I must have the map with me. He stop me for 15 minute and I had to wait the marshall with a follow-me before entering on the apron while 2 executive behind waiting for !. At the Apron office they show me the plan and I had to excuse me not only with the marshall but with the 2 aircraft pilots. What a shame....
In the future when I'll fly to a large airport I have to print (from ENAV/AIP source) the parking/docking map, but since you create the downloading FILTER why not have the option for the Docking-Parking file ?
Best regards, ciao,
Gianni
Little improving for the benefit of every pilots (Italian...).

Thank you for the example of LIRZ. I can see that the document you are referring to is called "AD 2 LIRZ AIRCRAFT PARKING DOCKING CHART ICAO", and it is therefore categorised as a parking/docking chart and is omitted from SkyDemon. We do have an aerodrome chart for that airfield though. They are separate PDFs as published in EAD, therefore they are separately categorised.

As a light VFR flyer, could you explain the need for the parking/docking chart? I believe they are intentionally omitted at present because they all (or at least most of them) are intended for large aircraft operating at large airports.

You probably partially right regarding the same PDF, but try to open on the Italian AIP:  AD2 (aerodrome database) and look at any airport, you will find the Textual and the file n. 2.1  (that is a single document PDF,  that include one or more pages depending the size of the airport, like:  aerodrome chart, docking/parking, plus sometime other maps.....)
If I look at Italian aerodrome on SD, I found the Textual, sometime other maps (depending the type of the airport) but in the Aerodrome Chart, only the first page of the original AIP document not the following docking/parking pages.
Look at LIRU, excellent job ! plenty of maps: approaching, helicopter, in/outbound route, but look at LIRZ or others, the Docking, which is part of the Airport Chart PDF is always missed.
If I look at any French airport on SD,  I get: the Textual info and Aerodrome Chart  but that include: the aerodrome map and docking plus eventually some more  maps.
I check on French AIP, the file are the same of the Italian AIP,  for each airport you find: the Textual info and another PDF file that is a multiple page with aerodrome chart, docking/parking and so on.

Hope now my email is understandable ,
regards,
Gianni

Can you be specific with reference to some exact documents please? We do not generally include parking/docking charts in SkyDemon I believe, although they would obviously be included if they were all part of the same PDF document along with other charts that we do include.

I noted that "Aerodrome Chart" availability is different for Country.
In France, for instance, when you open the detailled aerodrome chart, you have all chart including parking docking, apron map or taxi details, but for the Italian aerodrome only a general map of the aerodrome is available, all the other maps, are missed.
Those maps are on our national AIP for each aerodrome, could you include also these maps ?
