Let me try to clear this up: sync is not currently supposed to install charts, it's supposed to update any charts it finds on the device for which there are newer versions on the PC. If it installed, then anyone syncing their device from a club PC or a friend's PC would potentially find their device full of charts they never wanted.

If you want to install new charts, use the installer software found under Setup -> Device Connectivity Options. When you install SkyDemon Mobile it assumes you would like all charts present on your PC to be installed on the device. Sync will thereafter update them.

If all else is failing:

Put the SD card in a card reader - insert into computer USB port.
Open up PC Windows Explorer
Go to your C:\Users\"your user name"\My Documents\SkyDemon. (This path can vary according to the OS & how you have it set up)
That is where you will probably find the SkyDemon charts.
Look for : "ireland-15.skydata"
Copy it to the SkyDemon\Data folder on the SD card.
Put card back in device & try it.

When we get a major update of SkyDemon & charts, I find this much quicker than using ActiveSync (or Windows Mobile Device Centre)

Some beta versions seem to exclude the function that asks which charts to xfer to mobile device. Only solution is to revert to previous version, sync charts and then install latest version.

Anybody there?  I have just reverted back to the 'public version' and still no Ireland chart. I then put the beta back on and tried to load the French chart. but after syncing I still only have the UK chart. The charts show on my PC but when syncing it puts the routes on but no charts, no errors are reported , like 'not enough memory' etc so does anyone know what's going on? Obviously I can't use it for the flight which is a pity

I'm currently using the latest beta version but I don't think the chart for Ireland has been sent accross to my mobile device, or it's not showing in the chart manager.
I had planed a route to Galway in 'Plan' and then synced to my memory card, the sync was successful but it was very quick. I can remember reading somewhere on this forum (I think) that the chart doesn't show until  closer to the requirement for it to display and then it populates the screen, but I would have expected it to be in the chart manager. I haven't tried reloading the public version to see what happens yet, but will if necessary. The actual route to Galway loaded onto the unit OK.

Any thoughts?

The latest beta (with winds aloft) addresses this issue.

For anyone else caught out like this, Tim has explained that the beta versions do not have the "chart install to mobile" routine that the public version has.

Solution is to revert to latest published version.

Have just got a backup wince device (4.3 aware type device from china). Got it going but no charts. Have synced the card, have then tried to load a chart only to find no charts on the SD card?

What to do?
