London Microlights are planning a trip to Israel in the summer of 2011 from Damyns Hall in Essex
SD would be my preferential means of check navigation.
The route I would imagine is not firmed up but I suspect it would take in
FRANCE ITALY CORFU GREECE TURKEY ETC and it would be ideal if SD could be extended that far in time for the trip
contact London Microlights (DEEPAK) for further details

While obviously an edge case, this is something that should work (indeed we regularly test it) so I'll check into this. By the way, the distance reported if you actually plot a route will be a rhumb line distance rather than great circle distance.

Just returned from a trip to the Maldives (N04
o
00'22.27" E72
o
56'57.32") and whilst there I fired up SkyDemon on my smartphone to check the distance from home.
After getting a GPS fix I manually loaded the UK chart and then used the menu to select "Route"/"Direct To" and typed in EGKK then "Go". At this point SkyDemon shut down without any warning or error message.
I repeated this for routes to other UK airfields with the same result.
