Hi, I've been running SkyDemon for quite a long time on 2 PCs, a laptop, my Nexus 7 and occasionally my mobile phone. Recently, at work I got a new PC (replacing one of the 2 PCs) and a new phone. Since setting up SkyDemon on these new devices, I keep getting repeated messages about devices being disconnected from my account, having to log out and back in again to resolve this. This was so bad on Saturday on the Nexus 7 (that I fly with) that I had to log out and back in again 5 or 6 times before it would let me in. Have I inadvertently exceeded some limit on my account?

Perhaps somebody else has got a hold of your login details and is using them? We can investigate further if necessary.
A personal SkyDemon subscription lets you log in on two PCs, two iOS devices and two Android devices at the same time.

Hi, While it's possible that my login details have been compromised, it seems coincidental that it's started happening just as I start using SkyDemon on two new devices. Can you check to see if I'm exceeding the limit, and if so provide me with IP addresses of the systems where the logins are taking place? Obviously here isn't the best place to do that, what's the best way to proceed? EDIT: Actually, just realised that I regularly use SkyDemon on 3 PCs (and have been doing so for as long as I can remember). Is this a new limitation? |

No, the limitation has been in place for around a year. While you're welcome to have SkyDemon installed on three PCs, only two of them may be logged in at one time. Perhaps you had been using quite old versions on them, which may not have had the limitation enforced.

When you say "logged in" do you mean actually running on the PC at the time? I have SkyDemon installed on a number of machines, but I can only sit at one of them at a time, so it's almost never running more than once! Also, I generally upgrade to the latest and greatest version as soon as I am notified of it. Think this is worth looking in to further? What's the next step? Andy

No, I mean that if you log in to SkyDemon on a third PC, your first PC will become no longer logged in (producing the message you have seen) and will need you to log in again. If you do so, the second PC will become logged out. And so on. It sounds like everything is behaving as it should be.

Ah yes, when you explain it like that, it does sounds like it's behaving as it should. As long as I'm not breaking the spirit of the rules, I'll carry on as I am. Andy

The spirit of the rules is that your personal subscription is for use by you only. Unfortunately some people get together to break these rules so we have had to impose the enforcement detailed above, which we believe quite reasonable.

In that case, I'm happy that I'm using SkyDemon within the spirit of the rules. All these PCs are mine (my home PC, my home laptop and my work PC) and the only person that uses SkyDemon on them is me. I'll just learn to live with occasionally having to log back in again. Now I know the reason for it, I can certainly live with the occasional inconvenience. Thanks for the input. Andy

I'm also having the same issue of being constantly logged out. This is a new issue having never occurred before I renewed a week or so ago.
Having read the thread above, it would seem that despite using only using 3 devices (they are all mine and and not shared) I'm breaking a rule as they are all ios (2 iPads and one iPhone -don't ask!). If one was an android device I'd be ok!
I (very) occasionally use the PC at the flying club (to print stuff out as they can't get air print to work) but *always* log myself off.
I can see why you don't want people to share but am not too chuffed at falling foul of the rules due solely to the OS of my devices rather than the number.
As an aside, are there any rates for flying club use, or for every member of a flying group? (Just pondering for the future)
Paul
Ps the buttons to submit etc are very unresponsive in iOS. I have to copy the text, email it to myself and post from a MacBook!
