Hi all,

The latest iPad mini with Retina screen seems to have a MAJOR problem for aviation navigation!

The specification states Assisted GPS only which is no use if you are out of mobile phone cover. The original mini which I use for SD and other mapping apps has full GPS and Glossnas. Superb location at all times.

I have talked to the technical staff at 2 Apple stores, Leeds and Cardiff, and they confirm the published specification.

Can anybody or even Apple confirm the exact situation as if this is correct both aviators and sailors, even walkers, will have to find another tablet.

At least 2 of my club members are now in doubt re a purchase for Christmas.
