France / Channel Islands Chart Problem on MD

Group: Forum Members Posts: 2, Visits: 20	As per my original post, using SD mobile device and SD 2.7 Loaded Routing: Fairoaks - Sandown - St Catherines point VRP - Garmi - MP (Cherbourg) - Carteret Lighthouse VRP - JSY - Jersey All was well until south of MP heading to Carteret Lighthouse when I was cleared direct to Jersey. Expanding the map scale displayed the French coast and a dot where JSY is but no UK chart info. Incidentally, Flew last week around Jersey, the SD mobile found its position but again would not automatically load the UK charts - had to load the UK chart manually to display the Islands Regards

Group: Forum Members Posts: 8K, Visits: 9.1K	The Mobile MD will only load charts if you are within their geographical boundaries. The "geographical boundaries" of the UK chart are specially increased to include the channel islands CTR. Could you give us exact steps to reproduce (in the simulator) the situation you describe where the unit will unload the UK chart then subsequently fail to load it again? Many thanks.

Group: Forum Members Posts: 2, Visits: 20	For Info: Last week using Skydemon 2.7 on the Mobile device flew Isle of White, Garmi, MP (Cherbourg) Carteret Lighthouse, Jersey After MP, heading towards Jersey the MD displayed Cherbourg and the channel Islands Approx 10 nm south of MP (thus using the French Chart) the MD unloaded the UK charts with the result that the Channel Islands were no longer displayed. At no time during the rest of the flight despite being back in UK airspace heading to Jersey, did the MD load the UK charts Also, over France close to the Carteret lighthouse, Skydemon stopped logging. I have discussed the problem with Hanna at Skydemon who suggested it was a chart loading issue and that the logging issue may be due to loss of GPS signal I was also able to repeat the problem using the MD in Simulator mode Brian Lesslie
