Yes, there are several apps that allow to "see" inside the Ipad from the computer, same as a USB key. The best I found is DiskAid, to install in the computer and FileApp to install on the Ipad. Contact me by mail to get the files, it is easy to copy the entire folder of Custom Date in the Ipad.

Yes, I used the same files that are used by other software, based on the ones published by the FFVV and arranged by a friend pilot. On my side, I just adapted the format to SkyDemon. These files overlap well the zones that appear on the official maps, but of course not exactly, but they are bigger, so quite safe.
