Is there a way to automatically download the AIP plates without having to open them one by one? They could go into a temp folder that gets updated or deleted when needed.

On a PC. - On the right hand side of your screen. Go to Plates > Download All (at top of plates window)

On Ipad - On the right hand side of your screen. Go to Plates >Tools >Download Product. (tools is at the top left of the plates window)

That answer doesn't work with AIP plates though. These are provided free as a courtesy, and are many gigabytes in size. We cannot offer a Download All option for them.

Could we at least have a way to select them all and then to download them at once? I fly to Coventry tomorrow and want the plates for Coventry and Birmingham. There is quite a number of them (IFR).

How long does it take to download and open them one by one? A couple of minutes?

Right now, I have to double-click each plate in the right-hand window. It downloads and opens a separate PDF window for each plate. Then the plates are shaded 'green' and stored locally. Then I have to close maybe twenty separate PDF windows.
I want to carry the SID, STAR and approach plates on paper after printing them at home.

There are maybe two levels to consider: the plates you want to have on the local storage and the ones you want to have printed. I don't feel comfortable flying an instrument approach in turbulent conditions, maybe at night, with the plate on just a 7" screen. The A4 size AIP plates are not readable when shown in full on 7" held at arms lenght, you need to zoom in and scroll up or down.
