Group: Forum Members Posts: 274, Visits: 2.5K	Don't see why you would need (or in a lot of cases, be able to get) a 3G signal when aloft. All it'll need that for is downloading maps, weather, NOTAMs etc. Do all that on the ground with it tethered to your phone. Andy

As I understand it only the ipad has the problem of the wifi only version having no in-built GPS, but even then an external GPS can be used (although only a few are compatible with ipad and are quite expensive).
