Could you please advise how the MSA incorporated in the PLOG is arrived at. Can the parameters be changed. The Horizontal and Vertical Warnings dont seem to have any effect and I cant seem to find any reference in the documentation.

Customer feedback. The defaults in SkyDemon are targetted at people using GPS to aid navigation, and 10 miles either side of track is too conservative.

I was taught +500 ft above highest terrain/object 5nm either side of track. Then add further 300 ft for possible unmarked obstacle on top of terrain.
So thats +800ft for terrain, +500ft for obstacle
