I have tried to export a route from SkyDemon to my Garmin Pilot III and although the route appears to transfer (as the route name appears in the Pilot III's route list), just after pressing enter on the Garmin to acknowledge data transfer is complete, I get the message "Route Waypoint Deleted" on the Garmin. Despite SkyDemon indicating that the route has been successfully exported to my device, the waypoint list in that route in the Garmin is empty.



Going to Tannkosh so need the Pilot III and want to shift from Jeppesen (which works fine) to SkyDemon

What method did you use to export? Sync or Send to connected device.

I have had some flaky transfers.

Did you use the filename of the saved route or did you rename?

Try various combinations & see if it works.

Although I have no problem exporting routes to my Garmin 96C, SD doesn’t appear to work well with other Garmin software (eg. MapSource) or other (Garmin) GPS units. The work around I have been using is to use the programe EasyGPS as an intermediate step. It can open the SD GPX files, and save them in a form that other programmes can use, as well as exporting directly to other GPSs – not ideal, and care is needed with coordinate formats.

PS: Beja ULM in Portugal is in the wrong coordinates.

I have tried all methods available and even connected to the PC directly via serial rather than via a USB/Serial cable but still no route with any waypoints.

I have been usng the SkyDemon demo software and have been very pleased. However, I also have the same problem exporting routes to the Garmin Pilot III USB cable. The Garmin is my primary nav so this problem will stop me buying SkyDemon. I have no problems with Flitestar and Pocket FMS. Has it been resolved?
