Hi all,
I am a quite happy VFR User and about to begin my Instrument Rating. I also have a ForeFlight Subscription, but this is quite expensive and not very user friendly - compared to SkyDemon.
Is there any public available roadmap and/or information how IFR features will be improved in future?
Thanks
Tobi

In anticipation of Tim's answer.... Smile

A very useful workflow is to use Autorouter to generate, validate and submit IFR flight plans, then export the route to SkyDemon.

What Graham said.

The main part of the IFR workflow that SkyDemon doesn't do (and we currently have no intention of doing) is route finding/validation and filing.

Once you have your route, which something like the excellent Autorouter can do, SkyDemon provides you with airways charts and georeferenced instrument approach charts, alongside access to full AIPs for most of Europe. This is all part of a standard SkyDemon subscription.

I assume the effort would be huge but it’d be awesome if Sebastian opened up AR as a set of APIs.
It’d be nice to use ARs routing engine but embedded within SD. The AR site is not great on mobile devices.

I would also very much appreciate if SD would go the path to work on IFR functionalities and routing. Foreflight requires competition and SD is definitively superior when it comes to touch & feel. SD is intuitive and well designed. Why leaving the IFR market to foreflight? The current SD solution is not an IFR solution but rather a VFR solution with a small IFR excursion.

Mainly VFR with a little bit of IFR describes the European GA market perfectly. We mainly serve the European GA market.
