I appreciate the WIND speed/direction on the Sky Demon moving map is only a snapshot from the last time there was an internet connection. However, recently, when flying, I am consistently getting the "X" and not wind data. This X shows on both my iPad mini (5th generation) and iPhone (12) while flying and my iPad has its own mobile phone card. I am a bit confused as I assume there is an internet connection before I take off as the Skly Demon METAR and TAF info updates. Any thoughts?

Do you have a route planned? SkyDemon doesn't download the wind data until you have a route planned (so we know where you're going and at what altitude).

I've noticed before in simulation mode that the wind instrument will revert to an X at altitudes below about 1500' .

I don't know how this translates to real navigation as I use my EFIS for winds aloft.
