iOS 10.1 is now available.
I believe this was originally to be an update to add extra photo options for the iPhone 7, but amongst the long list of other improvements is "Improves bluetooth connectivity with third party apparatus"

Sounds promising........but wait for the rush to die down a bit before attempting to install.

Well, just updated to iOS 10.1.......which says it has a fix for Bluetooth stability.

Hoping that works.......because there seems to be little interest from either Garmin or Sky Demon.....who both seem to have adopted a "not my fault" attitude and show no signs of seeking an improvement to the current unacceptable situation.

I've updated and was going to go flying to try it out but the fog scuppered it. I tried it in the car just driving about for an hour or so and it certainly seemed stable and working so here's hoping. Knocked confidence but as always will keep the paper map to hand.

I also have connectivity problems since changing to ios10. I downloaded ios10.1 but the "waiting for location data" notification still pops up. I have rebooted everything, reset network settings, reconnected (re-paired) the Garmin Glo, but to no avail. Don't currently have much confidence in it for Tuesday's flying, so in view of likely poor viz, will also fire up my trusty Garmin 296 as back up.
Can no-one come up with a guaranteed fix?

OK, took advice and updated my Garmin Glo to version 2.8, and just been for 30 minute run in the car, with NO loss of communication, so fingers crossed all is fine now. Flying tomorrow so will test it in the air and report back.

I have also updated my Ipad Mini 2 to IOS 10.1 and it now seems to read my Dual XGPS150 OK.  I had it running in the office this morning and also went for a site visit in the car and it worked fine throughout.  Hopefully this is the fix (No pun intended, honest!).

Ian, Garmin fixed it with a firmware update.

So no, it certainly was not SkyDemon's fault. The fact it applied to all apps using your GPS should have made that clear.

I updated my Garmin Glo to the 2.8 version, and downloaded ios10.1 to the iPad, and it lost connectivity 8 times during a one hour flight today! This morning, Apple came up with another update (ios10.1.1), which I downloaded at the flying club. On the way home, it stayed permanantly "fixed" during the 30 minute drive home. Apple say the latest update is to fix some "health issues"....... yes mine if it's not fixed soon😩Cannot rely on SD at the moment (I know it's not an SD problem, but........)

Not too sure why you say that, Tim.
I had already updated to Garmin 2.8 before all these issues. It still didn't work.
My comment about Garmin and SkyDemon not doing anything was related to the fact that Apple have always issued updates to 3rd party users ahead of general release. Either this hasn't happened, or compatibiity checks haven't been carried out.
Either way, neither Garmin or SkyDemon appear to be taking a pro-active approach, because they both seem to be sitting back and waiting for Apple to sort it out.

You have an interesting idea about how much influence software companies like SkyDemon have with Apple. If only it were so. End-users are far, far more powerful.
