Hi, I have a problem which comes on my IPad Mini 4:

As long as SD is on the screen, all is fine. But if I change to another program, SD stopps logging after a few minutes. Any ideas ho to get SD running in the backround?

I can confirm I have the same issue.
IPad 4, latest version of ios and SD - external GPS source.
Logging stops when SD is in background.

This is a bug that has been fixed in the forthcoming 3.5.1 version.

I have been getting Skydemon stop logging whilst being the main screen.
I get the Green box saying it is looking for the location.
I then have to go to "stop navigating" then tap go flying again and the yellow plan pops up for a couple of minutes and goes off again.

SD is the only programme running, I always switch the auto lock off.
It is not that it happens all the time. Yesterday it run perfectly for over an hour, today it dropped out all the time.
Last week was the same. One leg, no problems, second leg all I end up is a log of bits.

It is unusual because until 3 weeks ago, it was totally reliable, its an ipad mini with a Bad Elf Pro external GPS.
Its is running version 3.5.1.32, IOS 9.2.1

This, this is a very different problem to the original post. Your problem is your GPS signal dropping out and no longer being available to apps like SkyDemon. This is not something over which we have any control.

Has this issue been resolved in the current iPad version (I use a mini 2)? Because I do get messages in my track logs regarding "gaps" of a few seconds to up to 45 seconds - which seem to correspond to the amount of time I'm looking at something else on the tablet.

The issue is long resolved. You might want to check in your Privacy settings on iPad to ensure that you've allowed SkyDemon to keep accessing your location in the background.

If you select "When Using" then you'll run in to exactly the problem described above, which is that if you switch to another app, SkyDemon stop logging your track. Because you have denied it access to your location.
