On my Nexus tablet, each time the SD app is updated (like today), the icon that I put on the app bar vanishes and I have to search for SD and move it back.
Is there any way that an update can leave the icon alone..?

It has to do with packaging (Manifest), not with Android.

If you are using Xamarin then the problem may be due to Version 5...
