Just wondering if my suggestion for the user to upload its own documents and to link them with an airport via its ICAO code would not help (http://forums.skydemon.aero/Topic16960.aspx).
This would allow you to print required info you wish and link them to your airport.

Obviously not the best solution (is you would need to keep the info up to date yourself) but a small step in the correct direction ?

Tim, that text part you posted is exactly what would be really helpful to see when viewing an airfield's "information" screen. I agree that it is quite unhandy to scroll through the entire document given to you by DFS - though I know it's not your fault that they provide it in such a format ;-). So, even if you could somehow automatically separate that text file you posted into a part for each airfield and just put it somewhere in connection with the airfield without any further effort of making it more readable or pretty ;-), that would - for me personally - already be a great benefit!

By the way - is there an option to view the other parts of the subscribed products (besides the plates themselves, e.g. the AD section we're talking about) in the Web version of SD? I just get it on my iPad - but maybe I'm simply too stupid ;-).

Especially for the iPad, SD is simply a GORGEOUS product - I just got my PPL and I mainly use it for planning (as my cockpit is simply too small to put the iPad anywhere without completely obstructing my outside view ;-)), but even planning is a lot of fun with SD! Big compliment from my side! Smile

I have again asked DFS if they can help us with this. I am hopeful that we may have a solution in the future.

Any updates on that or don't you plan to implement these information?

Hi Tim,

yes, this is exactly the information I was referring to. And it definitely contains very important information on flight planning.

Best regards

If you can separate the file and divide it in sections corresponding to the specific airfield (like in the italian AIP) this would be the solution. The "%" sign is a telefone symbol in the printted version.

I agree that it is not posssilble to separate and change the information by hand updated every 4 weeks by DFS. Other programs like Flight Planner (Ifos GmbH) have a separate textual information and update it every 4 weeks.

Could you ask DFS why this is not possible to get from them? It would be a great help for the users.

Sorry, it simply isn't straightforward for us to pick every airport's details out of the big document and manually transcribe them when they're updated so often. If DFS ever breaks the document up into easier-to-read sections that would in turn make it easier for us.

Unfortunately the EDDF Arrival frequency IS 118.500 according to the AIP entry, which is the official location of that data. If another frequency is in use then you need to ask DFS to update the official AIP entry. I hope you understand why we cannot make our data differ from the official data just because a helpful user tells us the frequency is wrong. If the frequency is corrected in the AIP then everybody will benefit!

Hi Tim,

thanks for the answer. The screenshot is included in my initial post and shows the AIP product available through sky demon (Aerodrome Details) in the document browser -> DFS German VFR AIP -> Aerodrome Details/DFS.
The only difference is, that these details cannot be selected airport by airport but the entire document has to be searched for one single airport I'm interested in. So the data is available but not very handy.
It'd be nice if the respective page of the airport was accessible together with the visual and the aerodrome chart, in the same way the latter can be opened. I hope you can see my point?

The forum apparently improved, I didn't have that many problems anymore these days.

Thanks a lot for a great program and taking your customers seriously. To make that clear: Your app is really good, I just try to help make it perfect ;-)

And regarding the frequencies: EDFH frequency can just be found on the IFR plate.

EDIT: After some research I found out the mystery about the Frankfurt Arrival frequency. It's a little complicated story why this one is the only "Frankfurt Arrival" frequency listed in the AIP, but after all it is technically correct. So sorry for that. However, for a C crossing, it is not the best to call in. But I clearly get your point regarding the AIP information.
