Hi there,
I've just purchased SkyDemon and been reading about trying to find decent hardware to run it on.
I've just tested it on my old Sony Xperia X1 phone and it works fine on that, but the phone is rubbish, very very small screen, awful battery life.
I'm about to go for the Navigon 8410, but its seems very pricey for a Sat Nav.
I could get a Samsung NB30 netbook (or similar?) with touch screen and dongle for not much more.
Surely running Skydemon on a netbook on the passenger seat would be as good as the navigon? I know I cannot mount the netbook, but the battery life is about 11 hours and it also means I get another laptop to play with when I'm at home. While a Navigon would be useless to me as I have Tom Tom and Google maps turn by turn navigation on my phone for driving.
Anyone got any ideas about it or other options I've not thought of?
I dont want to jump in and buy a device then something much better pop up that I didn't know about!
Also, using a netbook I would be using the plan software rather than the in-flight software, is one better than the other to use in the air or are they identical once the GPS mode is on on the plan software.
Cheers,

Jon.
