I have loaded the BGA turning point database as user waypoints and obviously there are quite a lot of them! I would have expected to be able to toggle waypoint display off/on as I can for all other map items but this doesn't seem to be possible. Is this omission intentional?

We're still considering it. Unfortunately glider turn points are not well published for other countries, so it would mean introducing a UK-specific mapping option, which we try to stay away from.
Turning on and off user waypoints as a whole wouldn't solve the actual problem (which is that of wanting to turn BGA turn points on and off) as I mentioned above. At least, that's how we see it.

Tim, what about this possible solution:

As of now you can add your own custom waypoints by putting them in a file. How about allowing multiple such user created files, each containing waypoints which the userr can turn on and off on a per file basis? There would have to be a menu in the mapping setup which says "display user waypoints", opening up to a submenu showing all custom waypoint files which I can check or uncheck.
